Well I broke down and bought a new computer tonight.  Now the fun begins.  I say this because I've been running the old XP tower for about 8 years and now I get to learn vista. WOOHOO.  Free upgrade to 7 when it comes out but after all this work I may not update very fast. I think it will be okay once I get a chance to really play around with the system.  Right now I'm just trying to get programs installed and files moved over...and figure out what 2 mystery parts are...ummm no manual or instructions with tower......pdf manual isn't the same model...the back of the tower is completely different and doesn't show these 2 items.  I knew what  everthing was except for these two little round disks with tiny little coaxle conections.  First thought was...well the tower has HDMI output and is hd compatable maybe these are antennas for digial tv or radio.  Well after much searching onlineI learned that they are anntenas for Wi-Fi...the tower can go wireless.  How cool is that!  This is a good thing becasue my outlets on this wall are getting a little full so I can move my modem and router to another wall.  

I'm going from a 30 gb harddrive (yes that is small but when I bought the computer 8 years ago that was a HUGE upgrade considering the tower I was replacing was only 2 gb's...my how times have changed) to  640 gb's and  from a 1.6 ghz p4 processor  to a 2.6 per core quad core.  Ummm, I may need training wheels for this thing.   Even with all the extra space I'm wondering if I shoud leave my media on the WD book Drive.  Would make things easier when I do the win 7 upgrade.  I'm going from 512 mb's of ram to 6gb's  If this sucker stalls when trying to run two or three programs at the same time I'm gonna scream. 

I still have my trusty laptop runnig xp so I can run and hide if Vista overwhelms me to much... kinda like Linus and his blanket. 

I have stalked my prey and it is mine....all mine.  Pets Leverage Season 1 DVD's.  There was great planning involved, nods and  points to wall of screens.   First I had to track the box set's movements (learning release date). Then I had to clear my schedule (took half day vacation). I thought it best to check the local socity pages to see where it would be appearing (see checking the sunday ad to see if it was on sale).  Then I narrowed down my target area ( wasn't on sale so wally-world it is).  I called in my back up and made arrangements for a safe house (going to veg at sister's house to eat and watch all the goodies). Safehouse comes at a price...(.now stalking 2 sets).  Departed office at 11:00am, arrived at destination at 11:15am,  walked to back of store (yes I controlled myself).  See's the blue cover, there is only two...they are MINE!. Snags boxes and rushed to the grocery dept. for junk food.  Not sure I bought enough...see list.

Now I feel I need to say that it won't just be my sister and I eating ( see 12 1/2 yr old nephew who is at that stage where there is just nooooo filling him up. He's about 4 inchs away from being as tall as me and I'm 6'1.  Also the brother-in-law)  I do hope to bring some junk food home because I'm "kidnapping the nephew" blowing off another day of work and taking him to see the new HP movie, treating him to ipod accessories or a video game, maybe going to American Eagle for a goodie too cause I am an awesome aunt and really do love to try and spoil him even more rotten than he already is.  The way I have it figured he's growing  fast and before I know it, it won't be cool to spend the night and hang out with the Aunt anymore so I'm enjoying it while I can even  if his favorite pastime seems to be to pester me. Don't know if i should pinch his ears off or just hug him to death.

He stood there, jaw clenched so tightly he swore he could feel his teeth cracking as he watched the other man fumble through the most basic of routines. There was no grace to his movements and the hesitations were costing seconds that wouldn't be there in the real world.

He just didn't understand it, the guy was smart. He had the movements memorized on the first walk thru, but just didn't trust himself to complete the routine without causing major damage to something vital. After ten minutes, and several pleading looks from the student, he couldn't take it any longer. Steping foward he reached around the man and began guiding his hands thru the motions. One way or another he would ensure Eliot gained the confidence and abilities to master the keyboard and mouse, and who knows one day maybe Eliot would be able to provide backup in the field.

"That is so unattractive..."

"What?"

"Clenching your jaw like you're mad or something."

"Well...I wouldn't be mad if you would stop banging on the keyboard..."

"You're clenching again."

"Dude...you don't have to hit the keyes so hard!"

"Well they weren't until you hit them."

"Coulda been the slushy."

"What?"

"Oh...I sloshed my slushy a bit a few min ago while you were in the bathroom."

"Man...I can't believe this...I walk away for two minutes, and you trash my stuff."

"Yes it is...you're still pissed cause I didn't clean your truck up."

"I got slushy on the floor, my foot slipped in it and then I spilt it in the keyboard."

"That's why my feet are sticking to the floor?"

"Could be..yeah...limeaid has a tendency to do that."

"Oh hell no...man this is nasty...do you hear me? NASTY."

"Yeah I heard you....are we about through here?"

"No...we are not through here. I've got another lesson in mind now....hardware maintenance."
